Put into a mixing bowl, the following ingredients in the prescribed order:
100 gms. butter
1 1/2 cups sugar (measured and then powdered)
3 eggs
2 cups flour sieved with 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cups milk
juice of one big lime
1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Beat all together with a hand mixer and bake at 350 F for 40 to 45 minutes, till cake comes away from the sides and knife inserted comes out clean.
